Heading West: My Table Mountain Inn Weekend Getaway
We all love the Mile High City, but sometimes a break from the hustle and bustle of the city life is all we need. When that's the case, I love heading into Golden for a quick getaway! Golden, Colorado is located about 16 miles West of Downtown Denver. Golden is a cute, quaint town with tons of outdoor (and indoor) activities to enjoy. Itching to plan that weekend getaway? Start with my recommendations below!
WHERE TO STAY
I stayed at the Table Mountain Inn and I loved it. This iconic Southwestern and Historic hotel is extremely cozy, warm and welcoming. It's located in Downtown Golden, within walking distance of so many great spots. The rooms are clean and the beds are so comfortable. I suggest splurging on one of the Suites, as they come equipped with gas fireplaces, whirlpool tubs, and balconies. This is also a great place to host meetings, weddings, or celebrations of any kind! The property has a ton of space for events. Best part? They are PET FRIENDLY!
WHERE TO EAT
While staying at the Table Mountain Inn, it is crucial for you to check out their Grill & Cantina. This restaurant is more than your typical "hotel restaurant". This is a Golden staple - bringing locals and visitors together to enjoy delicious Southwestern food. I tried the Elote, Burrito, Santa Fe Hot Chicken Sandwich and their Banana Bread French Toast. Everything was delicious, even down to their fries. They have a full-service bar with drinks as well. I'd suggest getting one of their margaritas to accompany your meal. If you're lucky enough to stay at the Table Mountain Inn, you can get room service!
WHAT TO DO
The gorgeous Clear Creek is a short distance from Table Mountain Inn. There is a path along the creek with historic facts about Golden and gorgeous views. In the winter, the path is sprinkled with holiday flair featuring trees decorated with colored lights. During the summer, it's packed with tubers, dog walkers, and fitness junkies. Golden is also known for the Coors Brewery, which gives FREE tours and FREE beer. They also have a gift shop, which is packed with beer gear. On top of all that, Golden features food halls, great restaurants, dog friendly breweries, hikes, bike paths, and much more.
Cheers!
